Fifty
leaders and supporters basked in glorious sunshine to witness
the formal opening of the new girls toilet facility. Colin
Thomas, Chairman of the Site Management Committee introduced Mrs
Pat Trodd, widow of Bernie Trodd, a former District Executive
Committee member in whose memory funds towards the development
were donated. Colin reminded us that the majority of the
building had been completed by members of the Boidier Hurst
Service Crew and Epsom and Ewell Service Team before Mrs Trodd
cut a vivid pink ribbon and declared the toilets open for
business. The facility is finished to a high standard and
includes 18m2 of floor tiles and 46m2
of wall tiles, 2500 all held together with 60kg of tile grout!
The additional toilets are needed in response to the needs
demonstrated by the growing number of girls in Scouting and
other user groups.

Bird, District Commissioner, Epsom and Ewell Scout District
