Camp Site Layout

Boidier Hurst is jointly owned by the District Scout Councils of Epsom & Ewell and Leatherhead.  It consists of eleven individual sites, set in mainly chestnut woods, available for camping from March 1st to November 30th each year.  The Manly Building can also be hired all the year round.  The site adjoins heath land and woodland of the National Trust.
 
  ON SITE FACILITIES; Modern toilet block with free hot showers and separate facilities for boys, male Leaders, female Leaders/campers and disabled.  Transit shelter for temporary storage of kit when arriving or departing. Water taps convenient for all individual sites.  A limited supply of wood and a camp fire circle. Large recreational area with a permanent flagpole.  Quiet area for Scout's Own.  Payphone and First Aid box at Royden House, the warden’s accommodation. Pioneering poles and 5-a-side goals for use by campers.  
 
  Warden at weekends from 6pm Friday until 5pm Sunday during the camping season (March 1st to November 30th.   Arrangements can be made for earlier opening and midweek camping.

  The Manly Building is available all year round for Scouting activities. It has a fully equipped modern kitchen with a fridge and freezer, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery for 36 persons.  Cooking is via a commercial gas cooker.  The hall has tables, chairs and several notice boards making it suitable for training courses as well as sleeping space – ideal for cub scouts.  A separate room with four bunk beds is provided for leader use.  Background heating and gas are provided and there is a prepayment meter (£1 coins) for extra heating via convectors and the kitchen towel rail.
